Our fascination with wine and the people who make it that led us to start The Wine Company in 1985 and now to create this site.  As you’re here, I suspect you harbour similar feelings.  We have found that many of the true treasures in wine go unappreciated.  That would have been all right if we could afford physically and financially to drink them all ourselves but we can’t.  We need your help in keeping these wines coming to Minnesota.  Our entire catalogue is available for you to peruse.  Its filled with wonderful wines from around the world; producers who we believe to be exemplary in their categories.  First and foremost, however, it is the undiscovered artists and their wines that we want to bring to you, to highlight.  Some artists create so few or such idiosyncratic and unique works as to never have broad enough exposure or appeal to be commercially successful yet are so inspirational as to deserve patronage for the good of our souls and the grace these people bring to life.

We can’t sell them to you but we want to help you find and buy them.  Why can’t you now?  For the very reasons stated above, few wine retailers can carry these wines.  They must maximize their space by stocking wines best known with the broadest appeal.  We probably should too, but we don’t.  If we love them, we believe that there are enough others like us out there who will appreciate them.  We just needed to find you, now we have.
